Self Hypnosis: Building Confidence

A lack of confidence can affect all of us, some of us moreso than others. Whether it's giving a public speech, trying to impress a member of the opposite sex that you find attractive, or trying to sell a product, if we lack the confidence to do something it becomes very obvious to those around us. Our speech gets shallow, we become nervous, we may even begin to perspire.

The key to acquiring confidence is believing that we can do something, and believing that we can do it effectively. If we believe we can deliver a public speech and impress the audience, then chances are, we will. The trick however is in acquiring this confidence. Whilst confidence is normally acquired through experience, sometimes even with experience we can still lack confidence. Even worse, we can lose confidence in an area we used to be confident in.

You can lose confidence for a number of reasons. Perhaps you had a bad experience one time when delivering a speech, or perhaps someone rejeceted you when you thought you were getting on well with them. You can even lose confidence if you simply just imagine yourself doing something poorly.

Worry can be one of the biggest reasons we lack confidence.

Building confidence with hypnosis is a relatively straight-forward process, yet not many people are aware of how easy this process is. Hypnosis works by altering the subconscious thought processes of our mind, changing the way we think about certain situations.

Through the power of autosuggestion, our mind can be trained to be confident in just about any situation imageinable. We can associate delivering a speech with being in a happy and confident mood. We can associate talking to a member of the opposite sex as being the same as talking to your best friend or family member. We can alleviate all of the typical thoughts of fear and worry of failure that are associated with a lack of confidence.

Once hypnotised to be confident, you will actually find it hard to be nervous. The reason for this is because our subconscious is more powerful than our conscious mind. No matter how much your conscious mind may think about worry, if your subconscious mind is trained to be confident, it will override your conscious thought processes.
